Crunchyroll to Stream in Non-Asian Regions

Makoto Shinkai is making a solid comeback after three years with Suzume no Tojimari.
Crunchyroll will stream Makoto Shinkai’s upcoming film Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume’s Door-Locking) globally outside Asia in early 2023.
The story follows a 17-year-old girl Suzume who opens a mysterious door that unleashes a series of terrible disasters across Japan.
These disasters come from various ‘doors’ that have appeared throughout the country, and now it’s Suzume’s responsibility to save the people from doom.
Shinkai’s films are famous for giving the female protagonist more power and depth that contributes to the plot.
His way of creating those characters seems natural, unlike many other female-centric media that look performative or forced.
